Presenting : Rumney Folk Festival 2009

Festival website and information:

www.myspace.com/rumneyfolkfestival

We've mustered up quite a festival this year! Not only do we have a fantastic range of diversity in the line up, we've also reinforced that festival spirit with plenty of other things to do, including a farmers market and craft stalls, situated outside which will be free admittance! With all the performances taking place in the hall this year, the church will play host to musical workshops with guitarist Adrian Hughes and African hand-drummers, Sedai Sedai. Once again, the church & bell tower will be hosting its open day.

More news to follow, so keep an eye on the Myspace, and if you have a profile, be a friend!

Sweet Baboo's "Hello Wave" album launch

Hello! *waves

Sweet Baboo a.k.a. Steven Black, who has stunned us all at recent folk clubs with his infectious performances, has launched his new album, "Hello Wave" on Businessman Records.

As well as an album, he has created a series of music videos, directed by Ryan Owen. One of the videos, for the song "Darlin’ If You Think My Songs Are Fun Then Darlin’ You Are Wrong" was filmed in the hall after the May folk club.

Sweet Baboo will be gracing us all with his presence on stage at the Rumney Folk Festival in September (more info on that soon, I promise!).

The album is available from the Businessman Records shop. You can also visit www.sweetbaboo.co.uk to view the videos and for more info!
